Unicorn Meadows

Our Mission

Unicorn Meadows is dedicated to:

  • Providing educational opportunities for interested individuals in the equine public and the general public to enable them to grow in their understanding of a rare breed of gypsy horse known in this country as a Vanner.
  • Honoring the memory of Cindy Thompson and recognizing the efforts she and her husband, Dennis, made in establishing the first registry for these horses anywhere in the world; and giving the horses a name that sets this breed apart from the general gypsy horse population.
  • Ensuring that all horses affiliated with Unicorn Meadows are registered solely with the GVHS Registry and/or possess the qualities inherent in a horse known as a Vanner.
  • Breeding quality Vanner horses for educational and promotional purposes ONLY.
  • Training and showing our Vanners, a component of our educational structure, for the purpose of demonstrating their abilities across equine disciplines.
  • Recognizing the rare, magical connection these horses have with mankind, and supporting and constructing bridges for those connections to be made through therapeutic riding centers; programs for underprivileged children; hospitals and homes for disabled children and the elderly; social programs for the betterment of America's children.

Unicorn Meadows was established as a vehicle for the greater understanding, protection, and promotion of the Gypsy Vanner Horse. We are proud to be a member of the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society, and are honored to support its vision and mission for furthering this breed in the United States.
